Looking for a place to create or develop a collaborative visual arts project? We may have what you need to bring your vision to life! Centrum's residency program offers a special collaborative residency package, designed to facilitate groups of artists collaborating on one or more new works. Groups of working artists find the facilities ideally suited to the kind of effort and focused energy that is needed to create a great collaborative piece or body of work.
To qualify for this special artist residency package, a detailed proposal of the residency project and bios of each of the artists collaborating must be supplied. Proposals for workshops, with a teacher/student aspect, do not qualify as collaborative residencies.
These artist's retreats are specially priced, and only available during the dates specified below. Other dates may be booked at slightly higher prices when available.
Small Groups
Lodging is in a fourplex apartment style building with 3 three bedroom apartments and 1 two bedroom apartment (total beds = 11). Each apartment has one bathroom, a kitchen, and a queen size bed in each bedroom. Two units are upstairs, two are downstairs, and a central stairway connects them all.
A separate studio space is included, with (some) easels, tables, chairs, coffee and tea supplies, and a water cooler. The studio is upstairs, and there is no elevator.
5 days lodging with studio = $1200
Midsize Groups
All of the above lodging plus four cottages. These cottages are also equipped with one bathroom and full kitchen each. Each cottage can comfortably house two people in separate bedrooms... some cottages have a third bedroom... so this package easily accommodates 20 people.
A separate studio space is included, with (some) easels, tables, chairs, coffee and tea supplies, and a water cooler. The studio is upstairs, and there is elevator access.
5 days lodging with large studio = $2200
add a second studio for $80/day
These fees include the Washington State Lodging Tax, supporting arts and culture in Washington
There is no deadline for applications and no application fee.
There are a limited number of these "blocks" available in 2010, so please get your applications in as early as possible. Upon acceptance a 20% deposit is required to confirm. This deposit is nonrefundable for cancellations received less than 30 days in advance of the residency start date.

-Bios/CVs of the major collaborators
-The time slot you are applying for (see below)
