• PONCHO (Patrons of Northwest Civic, Cultural and Charitable Organizations) has made an allocation to support Centrum's summer arts workshops, newer programs in classical music and dance, and creative residencies for artists. In multi-generational Summer Arts Workshops, talented and committed students of all ages continue exploration of an art form in a non-academic setting. These include Centrum's Festival of American Fiddle Tunes workshop, Centrum's Port Townsend Jazz Workshop, and Centrum's Country Blues Workshop, as well as new programs in classical music and dance. Creative Residencies host those who have committed themselves to creating art, whether in early, mid or later careers. During their residencies, artists immerse themselves in their own work, without distraction by the usual pressures and with no expectations but their own. Since 1985, PONCHO grants to Centrum have made possible Creative Residencies for scores of Seattle area artists. All of us at Centrum are grateful for the ongoing support from this remarkable organization.
