As one of Washington’s leading cultural institutions, Centrum has provided hundreds of thousands of people with life-changing experiences through workshops, performances, and creative residencies for nearly 40 years. Centrum and its partners have helped transform Fort Worden State Park, in the Victorian Seaport and arts community of Port Townsend, into a campus of creativity—engaging artists, audiences, and students of all ages and skill levels.

Ticket sales and workshop registration fees provide 58% of Centrum’s operating budget, and support from businesses, foundations, and government agencies provides another 17%. The remaining 25% is contributed by generous members like you.

Centrum was a cornucopia of creativity in 2010. More than 25,000 experienced the magic of Centrum this past year in workshops, performances and artistic residencies. In 2011, this abundance of artistic energy will overflow from the buildings, lawns, and performance spaces of Fort Worden State Park to engage thousands of participants and audience members.

To provide these experiences, Centrum must hire and host 250 artist faculty, reach and register more than 1,500 participants from across the country, provide $100,000 in scholarship funds for those requiring financial assistance, operate and maintain 9 cottages year-round for artist residencies, and produce 210+ classes, concerts, dances, and performances for participants and the general public.
